Deshazo Family History

Altered form of French Dechazeaux itself a variant of Deschazeaux: topographic name with fused preposition and definite article des ‘from the’ from a plural derivative of Old French chaseau from Late Latin casale ‘hut cottage’ denoting someone from a grouping of houses i.e. a village as opposed to a farm;

or a habitational name for someone from Chazeaux the name of several places in the southeastern part of France. The surnames Dechazeaux and Deschazeaux are very rare in France.
