Kero Family History

Finnish: habitational name from farms so named in western Finland (especially in Ostrobothnia) probably from the root of the nickname Keräpää or Keropää (see Keranen). In eastern Finland, Kero is perhaps a local variant of the cognate surname Keronen.

Croatian: apparently a nickname derived from ker ‘dog’ applied to someone thought to resemble a dog in any of many possible physical or abstract ways.
