The altered form of Lorimer is shown in Redmonds Dictionary of Yorks Surnames. It cites John Lorymore or Loryman from the year 1460 in Beverley (ER Yorks).

Other references include William Lorymer and William Loryman from 1523 to 1540, as well as Edward Lorrymer and Edward Loriman, who was a cordwainer from 1552 to 1558, in the York Freemen's Register.

Additionally, there is mention of George Loriman and Ann Lorimer in the year 1672, which can be found in the Hearth Tax records from Knapton, ER Yorks.
