Bizjak Family History

Slovenian: nickname for someone from the western and southwestern edges of the Slovenian-speaking regions in particular from the surroundings of Monfalcone (Slovenian name Tržič), a city in the Italian province of Friuli Venezia Giulia, and from Istria. It is of uncertain origin, most probably derived from Slovenian dialect bez ‘elder’ or possibly from bize, a term denoting a kind of pants.
