Gardon Family History
Gardon Surname Meaning
French: from a derivative of Old French garde ‘watch protection’ (see Garde). Spanish (Gardón): perhaps a Galician topographic name based on Castilianized form of xardón ‘holly’ (compare Jardon).
Alternatively a habitational name from the placename La Alameda de Gardón in Salamanca. English and Scottish (Angus): apparently a variant of Garden or perhaps a metathesized form of Gordon.
This surname is now rare in Britain. German (Hesse): probably a variant of Gerdon which is unexplained.
