From Hennowe (in Saint Ewe Cornwall adjacent to Goran and Mevagissey) found as Hudnou in about 1260 Udno in 1328 and Hennah in the 18th and 19th centuries.
The place-name is seemingly ‘easeful valley’ a compound of Middle Cornish *hueth ‘easeful’ + *tnou ‘valley’.
