Perhaps a variant of Jolland (see Jolin) with unrounding of the vowel. Compare William Jaland 1674, Henry Jollands 1697 in IGI (Fillingham Lincs).

The name is clearly in variation with Challand but as there seems to be no history of that name in the East Midlands it is probably best to treat Challand as a variant of Jalland rather than the other way round.
