Padgham Family History

Padgham Surname Meaning

English: habitational name from Pagham in Sussex which is recorded as Pacganham in the 10th century and Paggaham c. 1150.

The placename probably derives from an Old English personal name Pæcga (genitive Pæcgan) + hām ‘village homestead’.

Alternatively perhaps it may be from Patcham or Peckham Farm in Framfield (both also in Sussex).
