Slovenian and Croatian: nickname from par ‘pair (married) couple’ or a Slavicized form of the German cognate name Paar.

Hungarian (Pár): of German origin (see 4 above) or perhaps from a short form of the personal name Páris or Párizs (see Paris).

Possibly also an altered form of German Parr.
