In a recent report by The Wirecutter, Ancestry’s DNA test was named as “the best DNA ancestry testing kit.”

The New York Times-owned The Wirecutter found that Ancestry’s product is the best DNA testing service for those who want to learn more about their ethnic roots or connect with unknown relatives.

AncestryDNA Stands Out Above Rivals

The research published in The Wirecutter compared Ancestry’s DNA test to competitors including 23andMe, Family Tree DNA, National Geographic, and African Ancestry.

The article noted the size of Ancestry’s database, describing it as the largest database of DNA participants they’d seen. In fact more than 7 million have taken the test.

This, the article noted, means Ancestry provides “significantly higher odds of a successful search for contemporary relatives than its competitors.”

It also praised Ancestry for doing “a better job than its rivals presenting your data in a clear manner.”

Not only does Ancestry “present[] your data in a way that is easier to understand than many of its rivals,” it also places the information “in a useful historical context.”

• the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and
